Casstown’s After School Program September 2018 to May 2019

Casstown After School Program We continue our theme this School Year of Campfire Stories which features some of the Most Amazing Stories in the Bible. People like to gather around the campfire to share exciting and scary stories - but all in good fun. The Bible is filled with amazing, scary, and exciting stories that are more than just fun – they are all true and can teach us valuable lessons about God.

In February our story centers on “The Story of the Once Dead Man” John 11:17-45, “Raising Lazarus from the Dead”. When Jesus’ friend, Lazarus died, Jesus used his power to bring him back to life again. Kids will learn that God has the power to provide for all of our needs. The children will make Valentines to go in Valentine bags for people on Our Prayer Ministry.

In March our story centers on “The Story of the Vanishing Sea” Exodus 13:17-14:31, “Parting the Red Sea”. When the Egyptians were closing in on the Israelites, God parted the Red Sea so that the Israelites could pass through to safety, Kids will learn that God will come through for them in unexpected ways.

In April we will leave Campfire Stories for a month and go to Happy Easter: “The Resurrection” Matthew 27:2-28:10.  Kids will learn that the message of Easter can be found in the rainbow of colors inside a package of Skittles. The kids will learn why Jesus died and rose again. Jesus died for our sins so that he could give us new life. 

This FREE program will offer a snack, stories of hope, skits, games, crafts, service projects, and more as well as an opportunity to work on homework with the help of local adults. The remaining session dates are: February 6, March 6, April 3 and May 1, 2019. If you know of any children in Grades K-6 in the Miami East School District, please invite them to join us. We would love to have them join us.
