Souper Bowl SundayDate: Sunday, February 03, 2019 Time: 10:45 AM - Location: Casstown United Methodist Church Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday – More than 25 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer. “Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat.” Since that day, more than $125 million has been raised for local charities across the country through Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around the Big Game into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving. Through this mission, people of all ages learn what it’s like to make a positive difference in the world – as they collect food, raise money and volunteer to work in charities that provide shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry and compassion to those in need. This year we are part of that movement that is sharing God’s love with those in need. Please be a part of our celebration by wearing your favorite team shirt or jersey to worship on Sunday, February 3rd. At Bethel we will be collecting soup to give to the Bethany Center Food Pantry. Monetary donations are also welcome. At Casstown we will be collecting food donations through January and February to give to the First Place food pantry. We have designated Sunday, February 3rd, as soup Sunday. Everyone is invited to bring in cans of soup to donate to the food pantry. Monetary donations are also welcome. Please give generously on Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday, Sunday, February 3rd.
